WEDNESDAY NIGHTS IN LENT AT CHERRY HILL

 

On Wednesday evenings during Lent (February 21 – March 21, a potluck dinner will be held at 6:00 pm in Memorial Parlor. Youth will be excused at 6:30 pm for a special youth group with Korderro Brown, Director of Christian Education.

Our Wednesday Worship services will center around the theme, “Cross-Words” which will focus on some of the various themes associated with Lent: forgiveness, betrayal, suffering, etc. Each week we will welcome area clergy as guest speakers:

February 21 – Compassion                                                                                                                            The Rev. Dr. Allen Timm,  Executive Presbyter, The Presbytery of Detroit

February 28 – Betrayal                                                                                                                                 The Rev. Kurt Gephard, Chaplain, Henry Ford Village

 March 7 – Obedience                                                                                                                                     The Rev. Colleen Nieman, Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dearborn

March 14 – Suffering                                                                                                                                     The Rev. Mary Austin, Pastor, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Detroit

March 21 – Forgiveness                                                                                                                                  The Rev. Karen Stunkel,  New Hope Presbyterian Church, Detroit

These weekly thirty minute communion services will be held in the chapel. All are encouraged to make these services a special part of their Lenten journey.

 

ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP – March 6 – 7:00 pm – Chapel

On Ash Wednesday, March 6, we will begin our Lenten journey in worship at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.
