We’re happy to report that more children are attending the children’s program led by Kim Tomberlin on Wednesday evening as part of the Ceilidh program. Word has it that the children enjoy the program so much that they’re bringing their parents and grandparents along!

Volunteer leaders for this class are asked to take one Sunday at a time and an easy-to-follow lesson plan is provided.  Your help is needed.  Please sign up on the bulletin board in Weir Foyer.

Acolyte

We have begun including one of our young people as an acolyte in worship to light and extinguish the candles in the chancel. We’re glad to have this opportunity to include some of our young people in the worship service.

Adult Education:

Please join us on Sunday mornings in the Memorial Parlor at 9:00 a.m. for the Adult Education program (also offered Wednesday evenings, too).  The Sunday morning Bible Study group has resumed the study of the Book of Daniel. We continue to study the contest between Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar. The God of Daniel will change the king. The king admits that the God of Daniel is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride, he is able to humble. We find that God uses people as unimpressive as ourselves to bring people to the knowledge of himself. Won’t you please join us? All are welcome.

Presbyterian Women’s Bible Study for 2009-2010: "Joshua, a Journey of Faith"
(Peace Circle and Pikeville Circle)

The book of Joshua has impacted the people of the Middle East, as well as the rest of the world.  It has been cited as a justification for violence.  It also is vehemently dismissed for the same reason.  The author of this study is Mary Mikhail.  She’s a resident of Lebanon and a professor at the Neur East School of Theology.  God willing (INSHALLAH), we will be able to journey through this challenging Book of Joshua together.
